We have been very busy these last couple of weeks. I spent about a week preparing for our trip to Fort Davis/Big Bend and we were gone for 9 days. It was so much fun and Hudson was such a trooper! We did a lot on our trip, so I will try and keep it short. We took Hudson to Balmorhea swimming for the day and had a picnic lunch. We did lots of hiking at Davis Mountains State Park where we saw mule deer, Montezuma quail and lots of javelina. Ross and I went to Big Bend for the day while my mom, sister, aunt, uncle and cousins watched Hudson for us. It was absolutely beautiful! We did a ton of hiking, had lunch in the Chisos Mountains and enjoyed our time outdoors. They also kept Hudson overnight for us, so we didn't have to rush back. It was Hudson's first overnight stay without both of us. He did great! We also went to the McDonald Observatory and the Fort Davis Historical Site.
In other news, Hudson took his first steps right before we left for our trip. While we were gone he took six steps at one time, so we definitely think he will be fully mobile before long. He can also go from sitting to standing without using anything to pull himself up. He cut two more teeth on the bottom while we were gone, so he now has eight teeth. He is growing up too fast!
I am now busy preparing for his first birthday party. Where did the year go?
